Sea Marshall® ‘SOS’ Self Managed Rapid Alert & Locate Lost Diver System

1. Diver wearing PLB8-LD ‘SOS®’ AU/Personal Locator Beacon dives.
2. Diver has drifted out of sight during dive, or dive boat has mistakenly left without diver.
3. Diver activates AU/Personal Locator Beacon & transmits ‘SOS’ homing radio (& SOS light) signal on 121.5 MHz.
4. a. Self Managed Rescue. SARfinder® 1003 Base Unit on Dive Boat receives ‘SOS’ signal from AU/Personal Locator Beacon on Diver, Lost Diver Alarm auto activates, Dive Boat Tracks ‘SOS’ Homing Signal using SARfinders® 1003 Locating Function, Diver is rescued.
   b. Extra Assistance Required. Local SAR are radioed and requested to recover Lost Diver. SAR vehicles track 121.5 MHz Personal Locator Beacon Homing Signal using own, standard issue, onboard Radio Direction Finders, Lost Diver is rescued
